Nonviolence
 

The 14th Dalai Lama, known as Gyalwa Rinpoche to the Tibetan people, teaches the Tibetan Buddhist virtues of Ahimsa and Karuna (nonviolence and compassion).  His frequent talks, public appearances, and publications include his urgent appeal to all of humankind to adopt the principles of nonviolence and compassion as we go about modeling our societies, communities, and lives.

Mahatma Ghandi was the leader of the nationalist movement against the British rule of India, who taught nonviolence (ahimsa).
